Auch in diesen Zeiten gibt es sie noch, die positiven Überraschungsmomente! Ich habe es kaum für möglich gehalten, in diesem meinem schon recht reifen Leben nochmal einen Ort zu finden, der aus meiner Sicht für ein neuerliches PITB-Summer Special wie gemacht scheint, Torsten sei dank! Im südlichen Brandenburg gibt es so einen Platz, den Campingplatz Waldbad Bornsdorf, ca. 10 km südlich vom nächstgrößeren Städtchen Luckau in der Niederlausitz! Freut Euch mit uns zusammen auf ein Wochenende voller zauberhafter Musik an einem idyllischen Plätzchen, gelegen an einem kleinen See am Rande der Niederlausitzer Wälder! Auf dem Campingplatz ist die Bühne bereits vorhanden, und die ebenfalls dort vorhandene Gaststätte wird sich um unsere Verpflegung kümmern!
Wir haben zum PITB-Summer-Special VIII die nachfolgenden Bands eingeladen:
Aoxotoxoa (CH)
Mit mehreren hundert Auftritten, darunter am Playing The Band in Plauen und am Outdoor Special bildet der authentische Tribute AoxoToxoA aus der Schweiz längst einen festen Bestandteil der europäischen Deadhead-Szene. Ihre Konzerte lassen unterschiedliche Epochen der Grateful Dead erleben, was sie mit viel Spielfreude, Jams ohne Netz und doppelten Boden und dem steten Ziel, den Vorbildern noch näher zu kommen, präsentieren. Am diesjährigen Festival feiern sie das Finale ihrer Sommertour quer durch Deutschland.

Strange Shape (CH)
Strange Shape, eine hervorragende Live-Band, die es liebt, über Eigenkompositionen oder Covers zu improvisieren, was das Zeug hält. Ihre Wurzeln liegen im progressiven Rock und die Einflüsse von Rockbands wie Pink Floyd und verschiedenen Jam Bands, verleihen Strange Shape einen speziellen, einzigartigen Stil. Immer wieder steht die fünfköpfige, ebenfalls aus der Schweiz kommende Band, ohne Setliste auf der Bühne. Die Energie zwischen Zuhörern und Band lassen magische Momente entstehen. Strange Shape musiziert und “jamt” leidenschaftlich, innovativ, gefühlvoll und hemmungslos und der Musik sind keine Grenzen gesetzt – hauptsächlich bewegt sich die Band in den Bereichen Rock, Psychedelic, Funk, Pop und Worldmusic.

The Bakery Brothers (D)
Dass die Brüder von “The Bakery Brothers” seit jeher ihr musikalisches Schaffen ganz in den Dienst amerikanischer Musik stellen, ist wohl genau so offensichtlich wie die Tatsache, dass die zwei bereits so manchen Kilometer auf ihren Tournee-Tacho gepackt haben. So sind Johnny und Basti sowohl mit der Retro Rock & Roll Band “Midge’s Pocket” als auch mit der Bluegrass Combo “Johnny & the Yooahoos” zu hören, wobei Letztere bereits auf 5-wöchigere US-Tour war und hierbei sogar renommierte Locations wie die “Grand Ole Opry” oder das “Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival” bespielen durfte.
Dass das brüderliche Duo nun auch zu zweit die Bühnen betritt, ist wohl auf die schier unendliche Bandbreite der Americana-Musik zurückzuführen und dem damit verbundenen Bedürfnis der Beiden, neben ihren eigenen Songs auch die nicht ganz offensichtlichen Werke aus Folk, Bluegrass, Old-Time und Country in der Öffentlichkeit erklingen zu lassen. Hierbei versteht sich von selbst, dass das Ganze nur mithilfe einer reichhaltigen Auswahl an amerikanischen Saiteninstrumenten dargeboten werden kann… ob für den Folk-Neuling oder den Acoustic-Kenner – hier ist für alles was dabei!

Auch diesmal werden die drei genannten Bands das Gesamtprogramm von knapp 20 Stunden Live-Musik des PITB-Summer-Special VIII wie gewohnt bestreiten! Und es wird zum zweiten Mal in der PITB-Geschichte eine sogenannten Three-Night Run geben, mittlerweile können das die Jungs von AoxoToxoa, uns an allen drei Tagen natürlich vollkommen unterschiedliche Konzerte zu präsentieren!

Auf dem Campingplatz selbst gibt es verschiedene Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten, allerdings leider kaum Betten. Man kann dort im Auto, Bus, Wohnmobil, Wohnwagen, oder im Zelt übernachten.
Die Preise für Übernachtung auf dem Campingplatz pro Nacht:
Stellplatz Wohnmobil/Bus mit bis zu 2 Personen + Verbrauch Strom: 28,00 EUR
Stellplatz Wohnwagen mit bis zu 2 Personen + Verbrauch Strom: 29,00 EUR
Stellplatz Zelt/Pkw mit bis zu 2 Personen + Verbrauch Strom: 18,00 EUR
Jede weitere Person im Wohnmobil/Bus, im Wohnwagen oder im Zelt/Pkw 5,50 EUR
Jedes weitere Kind(ab 3 Jahre) im Wohnmobil/Bus, im Wohnwagen oder im Zelt/Pkw 4,50 EUR
Für 2 Personen ebenfalls noch buchbar: 1 Holzzelt am Wasser ohne WC 48,00 EUR
Den Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten könnt Ihr bereits entnehmen, dass Stromanschlüsse auf dem Campingplatz vorhanden sind. Die genannten Preise sind dabei vorbehaltlich, da eventuell ein Pächterwechsel bis zum Juli ansteht. Unsere Gastgeber bieten uns darüber hinaus auch noch ein allmorgendliches Frühstück an, optional ist es möglich, auch nur die frischen Brötchen (allerdings ausschließlich – helle – Weizen-Brötchen) bei unseren Gastgebern käuflich zu erwerben.
Für ein Erwachsenenfrühstück wird man ca. 10 Euro oder etwas mehr bezahlen, die tatsächlichen Frühstückspreise werden seitens der Campingplatzbetreiber erst zeitnah vor dem Festival festgelegt, ebenso natürlich die für Kinder und Jugendliche dann geringer ausfallenden Frühstückspreise.
Die Übernachtungs- und Frühstückskosten bezahlt Ihr direkt vor Ort dann auf dem Campingplatz, es besteht nur die Möglichkeit der Barzahlung dort! Das gilt im Übrigen auch für die dort ansässige Gastronomie! Während der Festivalzeiten ist das Verzehren eigener Speisen und Getränke nicht erlaubt, bitte nutzt die Angebote der vorhandenen Gaststätte!
Hunde können zwar mitgebracht werden, allerdings besteht im Bundesland Brandenburg eine gesetzliche Leinenpflicht, die unsere Gastgeber auch konsequent durchsetzen werden! Und wir als Veranstalter legen jetzt einfach mal fest, dass während der Konzerte auf dem Platz vor der Bühne keine Hunde erlaubt sind.
Verboten ist auf dem Campingplatzgelände jegliches offenes Feuer, Lagerfeuer und ähnliches. Ein Sanitärtrakt mit Wasch- und Duschmöglichkeit ist selbstverständlich vorhanden.
Wer’s bequemer haben möchte, kann sich zwecks Zimmermietung in der näheren Umgebung noch umsehen. Hier ein paar wenige Tips:

Das Anmelden für das PITB-Summer Special VIII ist eigentlich wie immer, Ihr ruft mich an, oder Ihr schreibt mir eine mail, und wir klären miteinander, wann Ihr kommen wollt, und wann Ihr wieder abreisen wollt, wo Ihr übernachten wollt, und ob Ihr auf dem Campingplatz jeden Morgen ein Frühstück wünscht! Anders als sonst ist, dass Ihr mir diesmal tatsächlich nur, wenn überhaupt, das Geld für die Dauertickets überweist. Alle anderen Informationen bezüglich Übernachtung und Frühstück, die ich von Euch erhalten habe, leite ich dann lediglich zu Planungszwecken an die Campingplatzbetreiber weiter, und bezahlt wird von Euch dann für Übernachtung und Frühstück nur mit Bargeld vor Ort.

Even in these times, they still exist, the positive surprise moments! I hardly thought it is possible to find a place at my age that was made for a new PITB Summer Special. Thanks to Torsten! There is such a place in southern Brandenburg, the Waldbad Bornsdorf campsite, about 10 km south of Luckau, the next town. Look forward to a weekend full of magical music together with us in an idyllic place, located on a small lake on the edge of the forests! The stage is already there at the campsite, and the restaurant will take care of our catering!
We have invited the following bands to the PITB Summer Special VIII:
Aoxotoxoa (CH)
With several hundred performances, including at Playing In The Band in Plauen and at the Outdoor Special, the authentic tribute band AoxoToxoA from Switzerland has long been an integral part of the European deadhead scene. Their concerts let you experience different eras of the Grateful Dead, which they present with a lot of enthusiasm, jams without a net and the constant goal of getting even closer to the role models. At this year’s festival, they will celebrate the finale of their summer tour across Germany.
Strange Shape (CH)
Strange Shape, an excellent live band that loves to improvise on their own compositions or covers. Their roots lie in progressive rock and the influences of rock bands such as Pink Floyd and various jam bands give Strange Shape a special, unique style. As always, the five-member band, also from Switzerland, is on stage without a setlist. The energy between listener and band creates magical moments. Strange Shape makes music and “jams” passionately, innovatively, and soulfully without restraint and there are no limits to the music – mainly the band moves in the areas of rock, psychedelic, funk, pop and world music.
The Bakery Brothers (D)
The fact that the brothers of “The Bakery Brothers” have always dedicated their musical work entirely to American music is probably just as obvious as the fact that the two have already gone on tour for many kilometers. Johnny and Basti can be heard with the retro rock & roll band “Midge’s Pocket” as well as with the bluegrass combo “Johnny & the Yooahoos”, the latter of which was on a 5-week US tour and could be heard on renowned stages such as the “Grand Ole Opry” or the “Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival”. The fact that the brothers are now also entering the stages as a duo is probably due to the sheer endless range of Americana music and the associated need of the two to let the not-so-well-known works from folk, bluegrass, old-time and country sound in public in addition to their own songs. It goes without saying that the whole thing can only be performed with the help of a rich selection of American stringed instruments. Whether for the folk newcomer or the acoustic expert – there is something for everyone here!

The three bands mentioned will perform the total program of almost 20 hours of live music of the PITB Summer Special VIII! And there will be a so-called Three-NightRun for the second time in PITB history. The guys from AoxoToxoa will offer us a completely different program on all three days!

There are various accommodation options on the campsite itself, but unfortunately hardly any beds. You can spend the night there in a car, bus, camper, caravan, or tent.
Prices per night, if you stay at the campsite:
Pitch for camper/bus with up to 2 people + electricity: 28.00 EUR
Pitch for caravan with up to 2 people + electricity: 29,00 EUR
Pitch for tent/car with up to 2 people + electricity: 18.00 EUR
Each additional person in a camper/bus, caravan or tent/car: 5.50 EUR
Each additional child (from 3 years) in a camper/bus, caravan or tent/car: 4.50 EUR
Also bookable for 2 people: 1 wooden tent on the water without toilet: 48.00 EUR
You can already see from the accommodation options that there are electricity connections on the campsite. The prices mentioned are subject to change, as there may be a change of tenant by July. Our hosts offer us breakfast every morning. It is also possible to buy only the fresh rolls (but only – light – wheat rolls) from our hosts.
An adult breakfast costs about 10 euros or a little more. The actual breakfast prices are only determined by the campsite operator shortly before the festival, as are the lower breakfast prices for children and young people.
You pay the accommodation and breakfast costs directly at the campsite. Only cash payment is possible! This also applies to the restaurants located there! During the festival periods, it is not allowed to consume your own food and drinks. Please use the offers of the existing restaurant!
Dogs can be brought along, but there is a legal leash requirement, which our hosts will enforce consistently! And we as organizers have determined that no dogs are allowed on the square in front of the stage during the concerts.
All open fires, campfires and the like are prohibited on the campsite. A sanitary wing with washing and shower facilities is of course available.

Registration for the PITB-Summer Special VIII is as usual. You call me or write me an email, and we will clarify when you want to come, when you want to leave, where you want to spend the night, and whether you want breakfast every morning at the campsite! However, this time you should only transfer the money for the season tickets. All other information regarding bed and breakfast that I have received from you, I will forward to the campsite operators for planning, and you will then pay for bed and breakfast only with cash on site.
